Offer Description

Your Responsibilities:

You represent the area Network and Data Science Management in teaching and research. A successful candidate is expected to build a strong methodological research record and to contribute to the faculty’s educational program. Your top international level is evidenced by scientific publications in first-class journals or proceedings in the areas of Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithm Engineering, Big Data. A quantitative orientation in relevant business application areas, preferably supply chain management, logistics or complex network systems is desired.

The successful candidate is expected to cooperate closely with the existing chairs of Management Information Sciences, Technology Management, and the Chair of Management Science, especially in the context of large-scale research proposals and in the research unit Business Analytics to be further developed. The university encourages multi-disciplinary research and cooperations across academic units on the campus, in particular with mathematicians, computer scientists, engineers or economists are expected.

Teaching of compulsory courses is assumed. The successful candidate will be involved in educational programs of Faculty III with a focus on business administration, economics, business informatics, German and European business law, as well as in service for other programs of the university, including industrial engineering.

Your readiness to actively and constructively participate in the university's self-governing bodies is expected. Your profile:

  • You have demonstrated particular qualification and interest to work scientifically by an above-average (very good or excellent) doctoral degree. Furthermore, you show additional scientific achievements, which will be evaluated exclusively and comprehensively during the appointment procedure. The additional scientific achievements were made in the context of a junior professorship, a habilitation, or work as a research associate at a university or non-university research institution, or in the context of other scientific work.
  • Experience in acquiring third-party funding (DFG, BMBF or other National Science Funds) as well as international networking and visibility is desirable.
